Thats the thing. It does not soak in. Everthying that soaks has a saturation point. This stuff allows it to run trhough into the aggregate bed below it. So the water flows thru the asphalt into the ground at a rate that does not soak. :)

Hi Robert - thanks for your response. Yes, you do have thousands, which is fabulous! When I wrote "dozens", I was really referring to the events posted for the Seattle area for the National Day of Service on 9/11. Thanks for your support!

Robert here from VolunteerMatch. Great post! But "dozens" of service opportunities?! We have tens of thousands of opportunities right now - in NYC and everywhere! With more than 70,000 participating organizations, everyone can find a great to get involved. Check it out: www.volunteermatch.org.

This is a great idea! Doing something positive behind a negative is the best way to rise above it and move on.

September 11 has vivid memories for all us. I am not against volunteer helping, since I am active in volunteering for public projects in our community. However, to say September 11 should be a day of service has no connection for me. Public service has much more time devoted than a single day. September 11 is a day that united our country against a senseless attack on our citizens. Everyone intended to rebuild Ground Zero, but it is more important to focus on building the character of our country on this anniversary, than buildings.

Fall really is the best time of year to start planting and building your home garden. However, many plants are not worth the trouble. For a list of the top ten plants to stop planting visit http://advice.helphive.com/2009/08/top-10-plants-to-stop-planting-part-1/

If you know what you want to plant, but are in need of some help you can find professional, recommended, and local landscapers at http://www.helphive.com/landscape-yardwork
